I thought

I thought I would climb everest and meet
somebody new.
But I met myself, my old self.

I thought I would contemplate and find
something new.
But I found myself, my old self.

I thought I would discuss, debate and discover
something new.
But I discovered myself, my old self.

I thought I would work and create
something new.
But what I created was myself, my old self.

Yeah.. i could relate to what you are saying.. but the problem is the thought that thinks that it could find something different is the old self.. whatever it touches will become old. And naturally, we cant find anything other than our old self. So Jiddu says, 'Only in the ending of thought(old self) can something totally new take place'. But we might wonder, 'If i end myself as thought who is the one who discovers the new'. But this question they say is not valid, bcoz once the perception happens, the whatever which discovers is not different from the discovery. So till then.. lets not try to find anything new.. but rather.. lets try to understand ourselves (the old self).
